Shipcloud, the leading shipping service provider in Germany, has appointed René Matera as a new, second managing director alongside company founder Claus Fahlbusch.

39-year-old René Matera has been Chief Customer Officer (CCO) at Shipcloud since February 2022 and joins Claus Fahlbusch as the second Managing Director with immediate effect. For the company founder, this is an important step with regard to the company’s further growth strategy.

“We have been on a very successful path with our customers and partners in recent years and have been able to achieve our ambitious growth targets even under the difficult conditions of the pandemic. Fortunately, this has also been accompanied by growth in our workforce. Against this backdrop, the appointment of René Matera to the management board is a logical step.” – Claus Fahlbusch explains.

René Matera, who worked as Vice President Digital Business Services at Siemens Digital Logistics GmbH before joining Shipcloud, sees his appointment to the management board of Shipcloud as a confirmation of his previous work and explains: “For me, the step from the Siemens logistics universe to an innovative player in the creative field of cloud shipping services was a very conscious step to where the future of e-commerce logistics is being driven forward. The fact that this trust has been placed in me after only a short time fills me with pride and confidence; I am very much looking forward to shaping the future of Shipcloud together with Claus and the entire Shipcloud team.”
René Matera will primarily take care of the areas of strategy, development and customer service in the management team. Company founder Claus Fahlbusch will be responsible for business development and sales.
