New growth alliance in the logistics sector: 
Shipcloud becomes part of the Waterland logistics portfolio

Waterland expands its IT portfolio in the logistics sector and acquires Shipcloud, the leading cloud shipping service provider in Germany.

The merger of Waterland and Shipcloud is a further step in the strategic direction of establishing itself as a leading provider of cloud solutions for parcel logistics in the future.

For Shipcloud, this opens up new cooperation opportunities in the area of parcel shipping with logistics companies and 4PL service providers from the Waterland group. The new cooperation is intended to exploit synergies and bundle strengths. The aim is to further expand the range of logistics services and offer customers even more flexibility and convenience.

Claus Fahlbusch says: “The e-commerce logistics industry is always moving and constantly changing. On the one hand, this requires a high degree of innovative strength and specialization, and on the other hand, a broad range of services. By combining joint strengths, we will be able to offer our customers an even broader range of services.”

Based on “everything from one single source,” ideally suited logistics networks and transshipment points will be created in addition to local partners and a comprehensive IT offering. This will make it possible to offer customers the best possible transport option, help them process their online store orders, improve the customer journey and reduce costs for the recipient. All in all, the aim is to create a holistic, effective and scalable offering in national and international parcel shipping.

For existing customers, the familiar environment will remain unchanged for the time being: Shipcloud will continue to operate independently and continue business operations as usual. The current management team will remain with the company and continue to support Waterland in all matters of strategic development.
